Sake Season – Bringing Sake To The Thanksgiving Table Since 2002

For the past quarter century, I have brought sake to my family’s Thanksgiving table. Wow, that makes me feel old, but it also makes me feel wise. Why? Because sake can do so much more with the flavors and feelings of Thanksgiving. Seriously! Heck, read the section above about Hiyaoroshi sake and pick one for your gobbler, it won’t disappoint. In fact, my daughter created a recipe for the old bird using a dry sake similar to a white wine for the basting. And it’s yummy! Butter and a dry Junmai all over that golden brown skin with a different Yamahai or Nama in your glass, and that’s living folks. Don’t sleep on sake this Thanksgiving, and to help you remember, here are a few choice Newsletter issues from Thanksgivings past:

Get in the way back time machine and read some seriously cool True Sake Thanksgiving stories that show you how the pilgrims would have used sake in their first Thanksgiving, look at the Top Ten flavors of Thanksgiving that sake pairs well with, and read my daughter Riley’s True Sake Turkey Recipe for you to get some sake on your bird.

PS. Don’t forget to look for the Turkeys hanging on specially hand selected bottles throughout the store that represent our best pairing suggestions, or call the store and we will walk you though the perfect bottle for your table. Even if that includes Tofurky and brussel sprouts!
